Basic Planning
2.31 Feet In Elevation = 1 PSI
1-Gallon Water = 8.34 pounds
1 Foot Elevation = 0.43 PSI
7.48-Gallons in 1 Cubic Foot
1000 Sq. Ft. Of Roof = 623 gallons/1” Rain
Average Annual Rainfall for your area
National Average Indoor Usage Gallons/Person/Day: 40 (Shower: 8.8; Faucets; 10.8; toilets:        8.2; clothes washers; 10; Dishwashers: 0.7; other domestic: 1.6. NOTE: Leaks And Baths Are      Not Included)

Basic:

Calculate Collection: Multiply the impermeable collection area’s square footage by the rainfall in feet, then take that total and multiply it by 7.5. The answer is total collected gallons for that amount of rainfall. However, be conservative and use 90% of the total to account for losses. For example:
Roof Area = 1,000 sq. ft.
Annual Rainfall = 15 inches = 15 inches/12 inches = 1.25 feet
Roof Area x Annual Rainfall = 1,000 sq. ft. x 1.25 = 1250 cubic ft.
1250 cubic ft. x 7.5 gallons/cubic ft = 9375 gallons x 0.90 = 8,438 gallons/year

Considerations:
Before you set up a water catchment system, ask yourself a few questions:
What will it be used for?
Do I want a simple system or a complex system?
Will I want the option to expand my system?
How much can be collected?
Where will the tank overflow go?
Where can the containers be located?
Can the containers serve several purposes where they are located?
Do I need to hide the containers for aesthetic purposes or neighborhood restrictions?
Will the system be gravity fed, or will it need a pump?

Cautions:
Most importantly – Never allow children to play or climb on a RainPro.
Children should never operate a RainPro unsupervised.
Climbing on or tipping over could be dangerous
Never operate a RainPro without the TOP (lid).
Never operate a defective or structurally unsound RainPro.
Drain it, then repair or replace it
RainPros are for plants only and are not to be used for PET or HUMAN drinking water.

Maintenance:
Clean the inside of your RainPro, if needed, by spraying out with a hose and draining.
Occasionally inspect and check your over-flow hose and connections
Keep the TOP free of leaves and debris.

Winterizing your RainPro:
During the winter, bring in the RainPro or at least make sure to turn your RainPro upside              down so the freezing water does not crack or damage it.
During the winter, connect your downspout to an elbow extension that will divert the water              away from your house
